Claims relating to a property you have lived in or paid towards but do not legally own
This is a situation that is more common that you would think.
If you have contributed to a property financially to a property that you do not legally own you can claim that there was an agreement between you and the deceased person that the property was to be owned by you jointly.
You would need to provide evidence to the Court of, amongst other things, any discussions you and the deceased had about ownership of the property, details of the sums of money you have contributed, the reason why the property was registered in the deceased’s sole name, your relationship to the deceased and about your personalities.
It is vital to obtain advice about this type of claim as soon as possible. Only by acting fast can you properly protect your potential interest in the property. Contact our expert solicitors today to discuss your options.
